interior architecture + DESIGN

A minimal yet elegantly playful approach to designing unique interiors, with thoughtful consideration to lifestyle, architecture, and the natural environment.

Brentwood Tudor Charmer

This project was accomplished in association with Daleet Spector Design.

Beatriz contributed to the project as an Associate Designer.

A sweet family of four and two friendly cats move into a charming 1926 Tudor home in Brentwood Los Angeles.  While the original architecture and windows were in tact (thankfully), the interiors called for a remodel and some reconfiguration to the floor plan.  We salvaged as much of the original architectural details as possible and carefully designed new details (that were lost in previous remodels) to blend in with the old.  A few larger windows were seamlessly added to bring in more natural daylight.  Other happy moments were fusing in a marble mosaic tile onto the bricked fireplace, removing casing around openings and reintroducing the Tudor style arches and plaster work throughout the house, restoring the beautiful leaded casement windows in the turret, and custom designing classic yet functional cabinetry and other millwork details throughout the house.  This project is both a celebration of the forgotten architectural vernacular of the golden era and the homeowner's recent growing interest in rediscovering this form of art.

Colcanyon Estate Kitchen

A charming, sophisticated bi-coastal couple and proprietors of a beautiful vineyard and winery nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains overlooking the Malibu coastline were looking to update their country-style kitchen and laundry room.  The new spaces would have a more contemporary look while still retaining its traditional elegance.  The kitchen was designed with state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances and thoughtful organizers while showcasing meticulous functionality for formal entertaining and large gatherings.  The custom hutch was designed to display the owner's exquisite collection of blue and white chinaware.

West LA Kitchen Remodel

This project was accomplished while in association with Studio Lifestyle.

Beatriz contributed to this project as a senior designer and project manager.

A young couple with a baby on the way moves into a new home - and a modern kitchen is in order to support the young family's new routine.  The milky-white chinaware creates an interesting contrast against the sophisticated grey cabinetry. The brass hardware, walnut furniture and weathered leather seats add just the right amount of warmth.  The simple white linen shade becomes a wonderful soft light-filtering backdrop in the early mornings.
