byrdesign is a Los Angeles-based interior design studio founded by Beatriz Rose. This fully integrated design collective encompasses interior architecture and design, alongside architectural and landscape collaborations.
Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, Beatriz's family (originally from Taipei, Taiwan) later emigrated to Los Angeles where she currently resides. This multi-cultural, multi-generational upbringing and immersion into three diversely rich cultures piqued a curious mind and shaped her creative vision, which ultimately set her on a path to design spaces that are mindful of the past, present, and the future.
One of her design passions is to carefully restore (or re-envision) historic spaces in an unexpectedly playful fashion while preserving the architectural integrity and character that stirs our soul. Nature and lighting also play a meaningful role in her work as they poetically transform spaces and elevate the human spirit. She wholeheartedly believes in understated beauty and edits her work until she strikes a happy balance between art, function and a welcoming sense of belonging.
Beatriz graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Media Studies from UC Irvine and later earned a Master's degree in Interior Architecture from the UCLA Extention & Cal Poly Pomona joint graduate program.
After a decade of designing for and collaborating with several well-respected architectural and interior design firms in Los Angeles, Beatriz opened her studio in 2017 and is an NCIDQ licensed interior designer.
When she’s not busy growing her studio, she is enjoying her husband’s delicious culinary creations and practicing Tai Chi.
