effortless simplicity

An original dermatology boutique finds its first home in the West Hollywood Design District. The floor plan to this 1670 SF retail space was tricky with its multi-angular shape and undesirable post locations.

We gutted and reconfigured the entire space to bring in an abundance of natural light, then designed a unique hidden storage wall to disguise a post, while adding much needed storage space.

The concept of the bespoke reception desk was loosely based on a jewelry box meets fluffy marshmallow cloud. Yes, design is often an exploration of abstract ideas that seems to make no sense at first! 

Yet we searched high and low for the right material to create this seamless curvilinear desk that also has a milky glowy quality to it. With resin casting, we were able to achieve a monolithic design that would also feel rich and smooth to the touch.

The drawers at the display counter were custom designed to perfectly store tissue paper and double serve as a gift wrapping station.

This space was designed to conjure an ethereal minimalist atmosphere- enhancing the skin brand’s message of an effortless and modern feminine lifestyle. This project was realized in collaboration with Studio Lifestyle.
