Old world, meet new world

A sweet family of four and two friendly cats moved into a charming 1926 Tudor home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, looking for an overhaul.

While the original exterior architecture and windows were intact, the interiors cried out for a fresh upgrade to the previous characterless 1990s remodel along with a major reconfiguration to the floor plan.

Luckily we were able to salvage all the original architectural details that were left and carefully designed new elements to bring back the Tudor soul in a fresh way.

Some historically significant moments came in the form of restoring the original brick opening of the fireplace, a set of beautiful leaded casement windows in the turret, and reintroducing various Tudor-style door arches, plaster work, and updating the staircase design.

This project is a love-letter to the Los Angeles architectural gems dating from the golden era of the 1920s and was realized in collaboration with Daleet Spector Design.
